Elevator compliance in Atlanta
Atlanta’s stock runs from 1960s Downtown office towers to the newest Midtown and Buckhead high-rises, with the Perimeter Center and Cumberland office markets, Emory, Piedmont, Northside, Grady and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta hospital campuses, Georgia Tech, Georgia State and Emory University, large convention and arena venues, and the world’s busiest airport, whose escalators, moving walks and plane-train elevators run around the clock.
Georgia requires annual inspection and recertification of every unit, performed by the state or by certified third-party inspectors. With the state’s metro inspection staff stretched thin and a third of the state’s elevators reported overdue in 2025, Atlanta owners increasingly contract certified independent inspectors directly. The Engineering Division’s rules require those inspectors to hold QEI certification and file a contract for each location.
How we help Atlanta owners and managers
Elevator Compliance Group is an independent, QEI-licensed inspection and consulting firm. We do not sell maintenance, repairs or modernization, so our work in Atlanta is only for the owner: inspections and inspection witnessing, review of inspection reports and violations, deficiency tracking to verified correction, maintenance contract review, modernization planning and owner representation when the contractor and the inspector disagree.
- Annual inspections by QEI-licensed, Georgia-certified inspectors with reports filed electronically
- Escalator and moving-walk programs for airport, transit, venue and retail operators
- Modernization planning and bid management for aging Downtown and Perimeter equipment
- Maintenance contract review before renewal for office and hospital portfolios
- Deficiency tracking with one status view across a multi-building metro portfolio
